TEST example for Place Entry
Object/Artifact
How to enter multiple places in CatalogIt. See this TEST Example entries in Related Places.
Four main categories of places for each object:
1. "Where created" or main place of manufacture or creation should be the main "Place" (mother place).
2. "Where acquired/purchased" should be the place in "Provenance"
3. "Component-Origin" or Locations where parts/materials were made, should be "Related Place(s)" with clear tags in the notes.
4. "Movement/Travel" or Migration or displacement history should be "Related Place(s)" with clear tags in the notes.
In this example, assume a dress with thread from Hebron was assembled somewhere in Palestine in 1945, was relocated to Bethlehem in 1948, acquired in an Amman market in 1971, and then donated to MPP in 2023.
1. Mother "Place" should be the most general, overarching place that is most representative. PALESTINE (HISTORIC)
2. Provenance Place: Amman, market in 1971
3. Component-Origin (each place has 5 elements in the notes):
