Scope and ContentDescription: Two official tax receipts issued by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The printed forms are headed “Finance, The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan” (مالية المملكة الأردنية الهاشمية) and “Tax Receipt” (وصول الضرائب). The receipts document the assessment and payment of taxes, with fields for the taxpayer’s name, village or neighborhood, assessment number, type of tax, fiscal year, and amounts recorded in dinars and fils. One receipt is numbered 181792; the second appears to be numbered 61998 (٦١٩٩٨). Both receipts contain handwritten entries, calculations, signatures, and annotations in Arabic. The reverse sides contain additional handwritten notes and numerical entries. The issue dates need deciphering. The receipts are printed on thin paper and exhibit extensive folding, creasing, discoloration, and edge wear.
